I love reading, writing, browsing bookshelves, keeping up to date with the book reviews in newspapers and magazines, reading book bloggers’ posts and I love talking to other readers about my favourite books. I always carry a book with me wherever I go in case I find some time to continue my current read. It does not matter what format it’s in, as long as I have something to delve into. Reading is like breathing to me.
So, I guess you’ve gathered by now that I’m a book addict and creating a blog page that will feature book reviews here on my website is just another way of sharing my passion. Helene’s Book Nook is the blog space where I will talk about reads that stand out for me, that have changed the way I look at the world, or simply a book that has given me a deeply immersive experience, made me discover new ways of thinking and living. I will also share blog posts under a separate section called Essays around themes that I have written about in my books, or topics relating to feminism, women’s health and creative writing.
Literary fiction is my preferred genre but I also enjoy non-fiction (mainly philosophy, psychology and science) and enjoy reading biographies, essay collections and poetry. However, I must say that although I am vegan when it comes to food, I’m an omnivore with regard to books. If it sounds like my cup of tea (I’m crazy about tea as well) I’ll give it a go. 😊
